Moving towards Valorization of Biowastes Issued from Biotrickling Filtration of Contaminated Gaseous Streams: A Thermochemical Analysis-Based Perspective

This paper investigates the valorization potential of two biowaste types resulting from biotrickling filtration volatile organic compounds (i.e., ethanol) and carbon dioxide air by co-immobilized microalgae compost heterotrophs, which were either attached on polypropylene spheres or entrapped within alginate beads. In this regard, biomass samples surface packing (S1) waste beads (S2) underwent thermal energy characterization via thermogravimetry calorimetry techniques as a screening step for establishing some possible pathways. The heat release capacity (HRC) values S1 S2 95.67 J/(g·K) 44.11 J/(g·K), respectively, while total (THR) 11.03 kJ/g 3.64 kJ/g, respectively. results study indicate that could be suitable undergoing decomposition processes-based applications, have application improving flame retardancy materials. These findings show issued such biotreatment can become valuable resource different applications instead being disposed of.
